Kayla Ciampa heads into her second year as a full-time member of the Athletic Training staff in 2018-19. Ciampa was an interim athletic trainer at the College for much of the 2016-17 school year and completed a clinical rotation in spring 2016 during her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont.
In the months following her graduation from UVM in May 2016, Ciampa was a certified athletic trainer at Northwestern Orthopaedics in Saint Albans. In addition to completing a stint at Saint Michael's while an undergraduate, Ciampa spent time with the Rehab Gym in Williston and finished rotations at UVM, Colchester High School and Mount Mansfield Union High School. In summer 2016, she traveled to Huancayo, Peru, with the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children to help provide healthcare access to underprivileged and medically underserved families.
Ciampa earned a degree from UVM in Athletic Training education while minoring in nutrition and food science. She was a research associate in trauma physiology through the UVM Medical Center Emergency Department throughout her senior year and has gained volunteer experience at such events as the 2015 Vermont City Marathon in Burlington.
