Hannah Piette enters her first year as the Saint Michael's Athletic Communications intern with the 2017-18 school year.
In her role with Athletic Communications, Piette will assist with all publicity and media relations facets for the College's 21 NCAA Division II intercollegiate varsity sports programs. She will work alongside the director of athletic communications in many media relations initiatives, and also aid in the College's social media endeavors. Piette will complete her nine-month internship in May 2018.
Piette was involved in numerous operations of the Lyndon State College Athletic Department during each of her four undergraduate years there. During spring 2017, she completed an internship in the Sports Information Department, serving as the primary contact for the fledgling women's lacrosse program, to cap a three-year stint with the event staff. In that time, Piette was charged with maintaining statistics and producing press releases for a variety of teams, while overseeing and leading members of a student staff.
During her junior and senior years, Piette also performed a coaching internship with the Lyndon State men's basketball team, with duties including practice and game day operations in addition to film breakdown. As a first-year and sophomore, Piette was the student coordinator for Lyndon State's NCAA CHOICES Grant, which addresses substance abuse on college campuses. For her first three years, she worked with her alma mater's Community Service Learning ASSIST club, working as secretary and treasurer at different junctures. The club volunteered with such organizations as Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross, and planned fundraisers.
