Men's Golf Returns From Six-Month Hiatus at Le Moyne's Mike Bello Invitational

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College men's golf team returned to action for the first time in nearly six months on Thursday during the opening day of Le Moyne College's two-day Mike Bello Invitational at the Bellevue Country Club. The Purple Knights sit 14th among 15 schools with 350 strokes, with the final round beginning tomorrow at 9 a.m.

In his squad's first competition since Oct. 23, sophomore Matt Johnson (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) fired an 11-over 82 to tie for 47th, coming within four strokes of the top 25. First-year Connor Morse (Westford, Mass./Kimball Union Academy) tied for 67th at 86, and junior Tucker Buteau (Gorham, Maine/Tilton School) stands 72nd after carding an 88. Sophomore Tim Donnelly (Lynn, Mass./Malden Catholic) shot a 94 during his second complete round of the season, and first-year Jack Maino (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) made his college debut. The Purple Knights kicked off a run of five rounds in 11 days on Thursday.
