COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's basketball juniors Derek Cheatom (Buffalo, N.Y./The Park School of Buffalo) and Levi Holmes III (East Brunswick, N.J./Rutgers Prep) received a selection to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 26. Holmes netted his third straight accolade while Cheatom received his first.
Cheatom notched a career-high 25 points, shooting 7-for-15 from the floor, 3-for-5 beyond the arc, and 8-for-9 from the free throw line in addition to his three rebounds, three steals, and an assist during the team's 87-73 loss at Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday. Cheatom averages 14.0 points on 40.7 percent shooting from three-point range, 2.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 steals. He is 12th in free throw percentage (81.3) within the NE10.
Holmes matched a career high of 29 points on 7-for-15 shooting, also going 4-for-9 from three-point range and 11-for-12 from the charity stripe, at Franklin Pierce. He added four rebounds, two offensive rebounds, three assists, and two steals. The top scorer in the NCAA East Region, Holmes averages 26.6 points in addition to a team-best 5.2 rebounds with 2.0 assists. Holmes connects on a career-high 47.8 percent of his three-pointers as well as 48.3 percent of all shots from the floor. His 22 threes are good for first in both the region and the NE10 on top of being third in the region and second in the NE10 with a free throw percentage of 96.2. Holmes leads the NE10 in threes made per game (4.4). Through 56 career games, Holmes is already 13th in program history with 139 three-pointers.
