COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's basketball junior Levi Holmes III (East Brunswick, N.J./Rutgers Prep) landed on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Dec. 3, earning the recognition from the league for the fourth consecutive cycle.
Holmes averaged 20.5 points on 60.7 percent shooting during a 1-1 week, adding a 6-of-9 effort from three-point range to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game. In a 69-67 win over Assumption College on Wednesday, he notched 26 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals, shooting 11-of-16 overall and 3-for-4 from three-point range. Holmes totaled 15 points, one rebound, one assist and one steal in an 80-61 loss to regionally-ranked Bentley University on Saturday, going 6-of-12 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
The top scorer in the NCAA East Region, Holmes averages 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Holmes connects on career highs of 51.3 percent of his shots and 50.9 percent of his three-point attempts while also turning in an 89.7 percent performance on free throws. He is also first in the region with 4.0 made threes per game, and has scored 20 points in six of the Purple Knights' seven contests this winter. Through 58 career games, Holmes is already 12th in program history with 145 three-pointers while standing four points shy of 850 points.
Saint Michael's, which stands 1-6 overall and 1-4 in the NE10, heads to regionally-ranked Saint Anselm College on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The Hawks, who are 10th in this week's D2SIDA East Region Media Poll, won last year's NE10 Championship and qualified for the last five NCAA Tournaments.
