COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's basketball senior Levi Holmes III (East Brunswick, N.J./Rutgers Prep) claimed a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 17. It was his sixth weekly accolade of the winter.
Holmes averaged 22.0 points on 50.0 percent (17-for-34) shooting, including 7-for-13 (53.8%) from three-point range, with 3.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. During an 80-59 loss at Stonehill College on Tuesday, he had 15 points and one rebound, shooting 3-for-5 from deep, before totaling 29 points with six boards and an assist during a 76-67 win over Assumption College on Saturday. Holmes was 11-for-20 overall and 4-of-8 from three-point range against the Greyhounds en route to his 35th career 20-point game.
Holmes, who has nine 20-point games, averages 20.3 points thanks to shooting 43.4 percent from three-point range and 89.9 percent on free throws. He adds a career-high 4.3 rebounds. Holmes is seventh in the nation in free throw shooting, placing second in the NCAA East Region in the category. He is also among the top 10 regionally in scoring, three-pointers per game (2.8) and three-point shooting. Among all NE10 players, Holmes is second in free throw percentage, fifth in scoring, sixth in made three-pointers per game, and seventh in made free throws per game (4.5). He is third in program history in career threes (266) while sitting seventh in scoring (1,725).
The Purple Knights, now 7-16 overall and 4-14 in the NE10, host regionally-ranked Bentley University on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The Falcons are 10th in this week's D2SIDA East Region Media Poll.
