COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey first-year goalie Hugo Turcotte (Gap, France/Kimball Union Academy) was named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 4. Sophomore Brandon Mitchell (North Scituate, R.I./Pomfret School) landed a selection to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll.

Turcotte had a .917 save percentage and 2.56 goals-against average in two games last week. During his first college start, Turcotte made 31 saves while allowing only one even-strength goal in a 2-2 tie at Southern New Hampshire University on Tuesday. He came on in relief to make 13 stops while yielding two goals in the final 28:48 of a 5-4 overtime loss to Saint Anselm College on Friday. In a team-high three outings this season, Turcotte has a .931 save percentage and 2.18 GAA, both of which place him third in the NE10.

Mitchell turned in two goals, an assist and a blocked shot while going plus-1 during an 0-1-1 week. Against Saint Anselm, he notched both goals, the assist and a block while keying a comeback from 4-1 down in the third period that forced overtime. His assist led to Saint Michael's nabbing a 1-0 second-period lead before his two goals 2:31 apart cut the deficit to 4-3 early in the third. At Southern New Hampshire, Mitchell finished with an even +/-. In four games this season, Mitchell already has two goals, two assists and four points after registering six points in 18 contests as a rookie. Mitchell is plus-3 while tying for fourth in the NE10 in points and goals.

At 0-3-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the league, Saint Michael's continues a five-game homestand this weekend, first by taking on Franklin Pierce University on Friday at 7 p.m. for an NE10 contest.
