Pineda, von Giebel Represent Men's Soccer on NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's soccer redshirt junior Gabriel Pineda (Miami, Fla./Immaculata-La Salle) and junior Jacob von Giebel (Lambertville, N.J./South Hunterdon Regional) were both named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Pineda registered three saves in a shutout first half on Wednesday, earning the win and backstopping the Purple Knights to a 3-1 victory over Saint Anselm College. He is 1-1 this season, having started two of the Purple and Gold's three contest, just one short of his total from 2017.

In his team's lone game last week, von Giebel scored just 59 seconds into play to give the Purple Knights the lead for good against Saint Anselm. The marker nearly stood as the game-winner before the Hawks scored in the 84th minute. In two games, von Giebel has two goals, within one of his career high set last year.

At 1-2 overall, Saint Michael's heads to Merrimack College for its NE10 opener on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. contest. The Warriors, who won last year's NE10 Championship and qualified for their fourth straight NCAA Tournament, are seventh in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll, as well as first in the East Region.
