|Title:||Alpine Assistant Coach|
|Year:||Saint Michael's '18|
One of only two women in Saint Michael's skiing history to qualify twice for the NCAA Championship, Meggane Grand '18 returns to her alma mater as an Alpine skiing assistant coach for her first season in 2018-19. Grand was a two-time team captain.
Grand helped usher in a new era of sustained success for the program during her undergraduate career, landing in the top 20 during 26 races while competing in the NCAA Championship as a sophomore and a senior. Her 15th-place slalom performance in 2018 matched the best ever by a Purple Knight woman at NCAAs, while Saint Michael's took a program-record 12th place as a school.
A double major in political science and economics, Grand earned the Department of Athletics' Victor V. LeMieux '35 Award as a senior for loyalty and leadership. Grand was a three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as vice president as a junior, and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma (college student-athlete), Omicron Delta Epsilon (economics), Phi Beta Kappa (liberal arts and sciences) and Pi Sigma Alpha (political science) national honor societies.
