COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College swimming & diving teams had five student-athletes named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 4. Senior Patty Kohn (Weston, Conn./Greenwich) and juniors Lauren Giampietro (Watertown, Conn./Watertown) and Sarah White (Lakeville, Mass./Apponequet Regional) represented the women's squad, while junior Connor Hopkins (Windham, N.H./Windham) and first-year Nate Imbergamo (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) hailed from the men's.
Kohn won four times during a 188-66 victory against Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday. She had the sixth-best time in the NE10 this year in the 200-yard backstroke (2:14.99) and the eighth-fastest 1,000-yard freestyle (11:11.98) time while anchoring the top 200-yard medley relay (2:00.87) and joining the winning 200 free relay (1:49.32). The 200 medley posted the seventh-fastest time in the NE10. Kohn, who has claimed two Weekly Honor Roll nods this season, leads her team in overall (7), individual (4) and relay (3) victories and recently passed the 70-win plateau for her career, with 71 combined triumphs between solo (41) and relay (30) races.
Giampietro won three times and took second in another race against Colby-Sawyer. Giampietro turned in the best time in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.44) in the NE10 this winter while taking the fifth-fastest 100-yard individual medley (1:06.21) performance and aiding the seventh-fastest 200 medley relay (2:00.87). Her lone non-win came in the 200 breast (2:37.20), when she was runner-up. Giampietro has five wins this season.
White won a career-high four times versus Colby-Sawyer, claiming three individual races to match her career total entering the meet. She had the fastest 50-yard butterfly (28.53) showing in the NE10 this winter, won the 200 fly (2:23.30) by 14.96 seconds, and topped the 200 free (2:07.20) field by 10.83 ticks. White was a member of the seventh-fastest 200 medley relay (2:00.87) in the NE10 this season. She has five wins this winter.
Hopkins won all four of his events during a 138-31 victory over Colby-Sawyer on Saturday. He topped the 100 IM (58.35) with the fastest time in the NE10 this winter, won the 50 free (22.17) with the fifth-best time in the conference, and also bested the 100 free (50.72). Hopkins anchored the top 200 free relay (1:38.83) and has six victories this year.
Imbergamo won four times during the Purple Knights' victory over Colby-Sawyer. He topped the 50 back (27.96), 200 free (1:54.90) and 500 free (5:23.09) races while leading off for the top 200 medley relay quartet (1:44.18). Imbergamo, who was named NE10 Rookie of the Week on Oct. 24, has eight victories in as many events as a first-year, including going 6-for-6 in solo races.
Both Purple Knight squads stand 1-1 early in the season. The women host Merrimack College on Friday at 4 p.m. before each team heads to Clarkson University on Saturday for a 1 p.m. meet.
