COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's basketball senior Leah Spencer (Brockton, Mass./Archbishop Williams) and junior Samantha Delaney (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) were both named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 12.
Spencer averaged 15.0 points on 52.4 percent shooting with 2.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists during a 2-0 weekend. In a 69-61 win at the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, she notched 14 of her 19 points after halftime, shooting 7-of-13 while adding three rebounds and two assists. During a 77-59 win over the University of the District of Columbia on Sunday, Spencer totaled 11 points, two rebounds, four assists and a steal. Spencer's scoring average of 15.0 matches her career-high figure from 21 contests in 2016-17, when she added personal bests of 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
Delaney averaged 15.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 offensive rebounds and 1.5 blocks over the weekend, shooting 57.9 percent from the field and 90.0 percent on free throws. At Bridgeport, she had 10 points, seven rebounds, three offensive boards and two blocks before collecting a career-high 21 points, 14 rebounds, three offensive rebounds and one block against the District of Columbia. Delaney shot 7-of-10 overall and 7-of-8 on freebies versus the Firebirds. Delaney is tied for third in the NE10 in rebounding, fourth in free throw shooting, tied for fourth in blocks, and eighth in field goal percentage. She is tied for fifth in the region in boards and rejections.
Saint Michael's, which is 2-0 for the second time in four years, opens its NE10 and home slates on Wednesday when it opposes Southern New Hampshire University at 5:30 p.m.
