Brian Donoghue joins the Saint Michael's women's basketball program for his first season as a volunteer assistant coach in 2017-18.
Donoghue completed his 22nd season coaching collegiate women's basketball in 2016-17 as an assistant coach at the University of Vermont. Prior to coaching at Vermont, he was the head coach at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., guiding the Monarchs to a 163-129 record and seven postseason berths over 11 seasons, including a run to the 2012 NCAA Division III Tournament Sweet 16. King's finished that season 24-6 and ranked 24th in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) national poll. The Monarchs were also 25th in the WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll.
Between 1995-96 and 2001-02, Donoghue was the head coach at Pennsylvania State University Delaware County, now Penn State Brandywine, leading that program to four postseason berths before heading to East Stroudsburg (Pa.) University for the following three seasons, serving as the lead assistant coach.
Donoghue, who graduated from Drexel University in 1994 with a degree in architectural engineering, is a member of the WBCA.
