Talcott had the first save of the opening period before St-Germain faced back-to-back attempts and stopped both. Wurzer put Saint Michael's on the board first at 8:33, scoring her second shorthanded goal in as many nights just 16 seconds after Post had gone on a power play. St-Germain picked up three saves in a row off shots from three different Purple Knights around the midway portion of the period before Talcott stopped a shot from Disciscio. St-Germain denied the next three bids, but Donahoe doubled the lead at 18:42. Wurzer and junior Madison Nichols (Gilford, N.H./Tilton School) assisted.
During a power-play opportunity the Purple Knights garnered at 2:24 of the second period, St-Germain denied four shots while Eagle skaters blocked two more. Shortly after the penalized player was released, the Purple Knights struck six straight bids at St-Germain, but she was able to stop each prior to the next faceoff. First-year Gwendolyn Lansky took a couple tries that went wide right before Kelly found the back of the net at 8:26, giving the Purple Knights a 3-0 advantage. Lanci and first-year Megan Doherty (Stoughton, Mass./Walpole Express) assisted.
The Eagles shut down another Saint Michael's power play at 9:52, with St-Germain making five saves. During a 4-on-4 sequence, Alarid and Miller set Disciscio up to get the puck past Talcott at 13:51. Galvin answered back at 17:42 to end the scoring for both teams, as Lanci and first-year Megan Doherty (Stoughton, Mass./Walpole Express) assisted. The third period saw Saint Michael's outshoot Post 14-3, as neither goalie yielded another score despite the teams combining for three power plays in the final 20 minutes.
