COLCHESTER, Vt. - Kevin Donahue has been hired as the Saint Michael's College Athletic Communications intern for the 2019-20 school year, it was announced on Thursday. A recent graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, Donahue will be the 15th intern to serve in the position since it was established in 2005.
In his role with Athletic Communications, Donahue will assist with all publicity and media relations facets for the College's 21 NCAA Division II intercollegiate varsity sports programs. He will work alongside Director of Athletic Communications Josh Kessler '04 in most media relations initiatives and day-to-day functions of the department. Donahue's nine-month internship will run from late August to May 2020.
A native of nearby Essex Junction, Vt., Donahue was a production director for Radio DePaul and a contributing writer to The DePaulia student newspaper during his time as an undergraduate. He led a five-person production staff with Radio DePaul, crafting public service announcements and advertisements. Donahue was also president of the DePaul men's lacrosse club team as a senior, capping a four-year playing career at the university.
Donahue graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in communications and media, having also minored in journalism. He was an Academic Dean's List student. Between the summers of 2011 and 2017, Donahue was a camp counselor then director for the Essex Parks & Recreation Department, managing 25 employees as director.
Donahue's Saint Michael's connections run deep, as his father, Brian '88, was a member of the men's tennis program, and his brother Jack '19 graduated this past May. Donahue's mother, Linda, is a long-time employee of the College, serving as director for advancement services.
