Men's Ice Hockey (4-3-1, 2-2) Falls to Amherst in Non-Conference Game on the Road

The Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team fell to Amherst College, 2-0, on Tuesday in a non-conference game. The Mammoths were New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship runners-up last year. Junior Niall Foster (Newmarket, N.H./Walpole Express) finished the day going 13-for-15 on faceoffs. First-year Alec Lindberg (Bedford, N.H./Hampton Road Whalers) made 44 saves, a career high. Twenty of the Purple Knights' last 22 games dating back to last January have been decided by two goals or less.


Women's Ice Hockey (2-9, 2-7) Loses to Plymouth State in Non-Conference Game

The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team fell in a non-conference game against Plymouth State University, 8-3, on Tuesday. Senior Jordan Monbouquette (Wayland, Mass./Lawrence Academy) recorded one goal and one assist, and junior Lizzie Blanchard (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford) had two assists. Seniors Arianna Boscia (Cranston, R.I./La Salle Academy) and Alissa Sullivan (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) both recorded one goal, with Sullivan blocking two shots. First-year Maeghan Kennard (Hamlin, N.Y./Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles) went 10-for-19 on faceoffs with an assist, sophomore Jenna Harrison (Kitchener, Ontario/Wellesley) had 11 faceoff wins and an assist, and first-year Jordan Lettiere (Hull, Mass./Belmont) finished with one assist. Junior MacRae McCarthy (Ithaca, N.Y./Syracuse Nationals) went 5-for-8 on draws, and classmate Riley Nichols (Gilford, N.H./Tilton School) recorded three blocks. Senior Vika Simons (Essex Junction, Vt./Minnesota Duluth Club) made 14 saves in 34:09, and sophomore Gabriella Dicomitis (Warwick, R.I./Williston Northampton School) recorded 13 saves in 25:36 of relief.
