Carlos Vega, Ph.D., enters his fourth year as the Saint Michael's Coordinator of Athletics Admission in 2019-20, playing an integral role in connecting the Department of Athletics and the Office of Admission.
Also in his eighth year as the Associate Director of Admission for Multicultural Enrollment, Vega is in his ninth school year as an employee of the College. During his first, in 2011-12, he was the Athletics Marketing/Administration Intern, made possible through the NCAA's Institutional Minority Enhancement Grant Program, with additional support coming from Saint Michael's. Vega was selected to join the NCAA Division II Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant Selection Committee prior to the 2019-20 school year.
Vega previously worked at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, first as a marketing volunteer and then as a marketing assistant. Before that, Vega spent the 2009-10 academic year as a women’s basketball graduate assistant and marketing intern at the University of Miami. While at Miami, Vega also earned his master's degree in sports administration.
Vega earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2009, majoring in computer science and Spanish. While at UNC-Pembroke, Vega was a men’s basketball student assistant and manager all four years.
