COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Northeast-10 Conference released its Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring 2011 semester on Wednesday, and 176 Saint Michael's College student-athletes were recognized for their academic achievements.
To be eligible for selection to the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded a minimum 3.0 grade point average during the spring 2011 semester.
All 17 of Saint Michael's varsity sport programs that compete in the NE-10 had multiple honorees, and eight student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average in the spring 2011 semester. In all, 57 percent of all eligible Saint Michael's student-athletes were named to the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, the third-highest percentage among the NE-10's 16 member institutions.
The eight Saint Michael's student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs in the spring 2011 semester include three recent graduates: women's swimming's Christine Amoresano (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Immaculate Heart); and men's soccer's Ryan Gannon (Colchester, Conn./Bacon Academy/CCSU) and Rondel Ward (Saint George, Barbados/Harrison's College HS). Five rising juniors also achieved perfection last semester: women's cross country's Elena Bilodeau (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood Union) and Andi Nelson (Lebanon, N.H./Lebanon); and three two-sport student-athletes in women's basketball and soccer's Megan Olsen (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central), men's tennis and soccer's Eric Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C./Pinecrest/Trinity), and men's cross country and skiing's Colin Delaney (Lake Placid, N.Y./National Sports Academy).
