COLCHESTER, Vt. - A pair of Saint Michael's College student-athletes - Marybeth Ash '11 (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) and rising senior Kevin Hunt (Johnstown, N.Y./Johnstown) - were named to the Northeast-10 Spring Academic All-Conference teams, it was announced on Tuesday. The teams are chosen by a vote of a committee of athletic administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives, with student-athletes achieving a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or higher.
Ash completed a standout four-year career with the Saint Michael's women's tennis team in April. She set the program record for career doubles victories, finishing with a 57-20 doubles mark, and placed second in program history with 96 combined wins (96-34 combined record). She ended her career by earning NE-10 All-Championship Team honors this spring, as she guided the Purple Knights to their fourth straight season of at least 13 victories.

Off the court, Ash was a multiple NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll selection and Dean's List recipient, and graduated cum laude on May 16 with a degree in economics and a 3.535 GPA. She also was a member of the College’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, as well as Pi Mu Epsilon, the mathematics National Honor Society.
Hunt was a key contributor in the midfield for the nationally-ranked Saint Michael's men's lacrosse team in 2011. He tied for second on the team with 14 assists, and was fifth with 15 goals and 29 points. He tallied at least one point in 14-of-16 games, and captained the squad to a program record-tying 10 victories and a berth in the NE-10 Semifinals.
An exemplary citizen off the field, Hunt is a member of the College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and also serves Saint Michael's as an Orientation leader, a Pre-Orientation Weekend Retreat leader, and is active in campus ministry. A multiple NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient, Hunt enters his senior year with a 3.333 GPA, and is majoring in secondary education and English.
