POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College men's and women's swimming & diving teams both won the State University of New York at Potsdam's five-team North Country Invitational for the second time in four years when the two-day meet concluded on Saturday in the Maxcy Hall Pool. First-year Connor Quirbach (Lowell, Mass./Chelmsford) added an individual highlight by breaking a school record in the 200-yard freestyle.

NOTES
- The Purple Knights scored 580 points to easily outdistance themselves from runner-up Clarkson University (461.50).
- Saint Michael's was a top-two finisher at the meet for the sixth straight year, winning for the fifth time since the 2014-15 season. The Purple and Gold had last won in 2018-19, capping a threepeat.

THE ACTION
- Wilk anchored a pair of winning relays, beginning by siding with Amedio, Butzirus and Gust to take the 200-yard medley (1:55.56). The Purple Knights' B team of Dzambo, McLane, sophomore Kaylan Conliffe (Windsor, Conn./Windsor) and first-year Livy Waranis (Narragansett, R.I./Narragansett) had the fourth-best time in the event, coming within 0.13 seconds of third, while topping the A teams from SUNY Oswego and SUNY Potsdam.
- In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Dzambo, Gillan, McLane and Wilk sided for victory (3:49.26). The second squad of Amedio, Butzirus, Gust and junior Mary Kohn (Weston, Conn./Weston) clocked in with the fifth-fastest time, bettering SUNY Potsdam's A team.
- Hart captured the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.45), while McLane trailed as runner-up by only 0.40 seconds. Amedio was fourth, falling just 0.07 ticks short of giving Saint Michael's a 1-2-3 finish.
- Dzambo placed second in the 200 free, Wilk was just 0.23 seconds back in third, and senior Emma Jane Tagliaferro (Bedford, N.H./Bedford) claimed fourth. Butzirus was second in the 400-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke, with Waranis third in the 100 back and Tagliaferro fifth.
- Conliffe placed second in the 200-yard butterfly, with Gust third and first-year Arianna Petta (Brookfield, Conn./Immaculate) fifth. Wilk nabbed third in the 100 free, followed by Dzambo in fourth. First-year Ashley Silveira (Seekonk, Mass./Seekonk) finished fourth in the one-meter diving.

- Saint Michael's netted 536.50 points to edge out second-place Norwich University (474.50).
- The Purple Knights won for just the second time in 10 visits to the North Country Invitational, having last captured the team crown in 2018-19.

THE ACTION
- During the 200 free, Quirbach raced to victory in 1:45.50, shattering the school record of 1:46.09 set by Englehardt at last year's Northeast-10 Conference Championship. Englehardt was runner-up in the 200 free on Saturday.
- Englehardt, Kane, Quirbach and Sullivan won twice more as a relay quartet during day two, finishing the weekend a perfect 4-for-4. They took the 200 medley (1:37.28) and 400 free (3:12.76) events on the day. Quirbach also won the 100 free (48.14), with Englehardt 0.11 seconds back in second, Sullivan fourth, and Kane in fifth.
- Senior Liam Burke (Scotia, N.Y./Scotia-Glenville) was second in a diving competition for the second straight day, coming within 4.05 points of the three-meter winner. First-year Sebastian Revesz (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) was fifth.
- Junior Aleksa Jovanovic (Weymouth, Mass./Boston College HS) placed third in the 400 IM, while first-year Alex Meek (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex) was third in the 100 back, with classmate Ryan McCaffrey (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/George Washington) fifth, only 0.20 seconds outside the top four. Junior Will Granger (Andover, Mass./Andover) touched the wall fourth in the 1,650 free, one spot ahead of first-year Gavin Nelson (Winona, Minn./Winona Senior).
