Men's Golf Among Upper Half of Field on Day 1 at Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational

KEENE, N.H. - As one of only two teams with multiple competitors in the top 10, the Saint Michael's College men's golf team opened the season by tying for seventh among 14 schools on the opening day of the two-day Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Keene Country Club.

TEAM RESULTS

  • With 310 strokes, the Purple Knights are tied for seventh among 14 schools through day one. They matched Post University, which was the seventh-seeded squad in the East Region last spring heading into the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship.
  • Saint Michael's is three strokes shy of Bentley University, which was third in the East last spring, and Assumption College, which was sixth.
  • Six of the top seven teams that represented the East at the 2019 NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship are competing in the meet.
  • Saint Michael's joined regional power Southern New Hampshire University as the only team with multiple golfers in the top 10 on the opening day.
