COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's basketball senior Levi Holmes III (East Brunswick, N.J./Rutgers Prep) claimed a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Jan. 20. He landed his fourth league accolade of the winter.
Holmes averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal while shooting 8-for-20 from three-point range in an 0-2 week. During an 81-47 loss at regionally-ranked University of New Haven on Wednesday, he scored 16 points with three rebounds, two assists and a steal before collecting 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting with seven boards, one assist, one block and one steal in a 64-58 loss to Adelphi University on Saturday. Holmes, who now has 32 career 20-point games, was 4-for-10 from three-point range in both games.
Holmes averages 20.7 points this season thanks to shooting 42.3 percent from three-point range and 90.8 percent on free throws. He adds a career-high 4.9 rebounds. During the week, he passed John Balczuk '76 (1,569) to take over 11th in program history with 1,589 career points, and remains fourth in threes (248). Holmes is third in the NE10 in free throw percentage, fourth in made threes per game (2.9) and fifth in scoring while standing first in the NCAA East Region in free throw shooting, fifth in threes per game, eighth in scoring and ninth in three-point percentage. Holmes is 15th in NCAA Division II in free throw success.
The Purple Knights, 5-11 overall and 2-9 in NE10 play, play only one this week, at Pace University on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
