COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey junior defenseman Sel Narby (Huntington, N.Y./Connecticut Junior Rangers) earned a selection to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 25. Narby claims his third Weekly Honor Roll nod of the year.
Narby had a goal and two assists during an 8-4 loss at Franklin Pierce University on Friday, with his power-play goal at 13:31 of the second period bringing Saint Michael's within 3-2 before he handed out two third-period assists to make it 6-4. Narby already has a career-high four goals this season, all coming on the power play, and his nine points are just four short of a personal best. Narby is plus-1 from the blue line.
Narby is tied for second in the NE10 in points and power-play goals, and tied for fourth in goals and assists (5). While Narby has four power-play strikes, only nine other defensemen in the league have even scored once on a man advantage, and none have more than a single goal. He is tied for the league lead in defenseman scoring per game (1.29) while tying for seventh across NCAA Division I, II and III in points per game by a defender.
At 4-2-1 overall and 2-2 in the league thus far, the Purple Knights return to action tomorrow in a non-conference game at Amherst College at 4 p.m. The Mammoths were the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship runner-up last year.
