COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's soccer sophomore Ryan DiNapoli (North Reading, Mass./Austin Prep) and first-year goalkeeper Tommy Coil (Toledo, Ohio/Ottawa Hills) landed on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 3.
DiNapoli capped his first college start by scoring the winning goal with 14 seconds remaining in a 2-1 win over Stonehill College on Saturday, as the Purple Knights tallied twice in the final 100 seconds. After appearing in only one game as a rookie, DiNapoli finished with three goals this year, tied for second on the team, while seeing time in 15 contests.
Coil registered a 1.00 goals-against average, .846 save percentage and 5.5 saves per game during a 1-1 week. During a 1-0 loss at regionally-ranked The College of Saint Rose on Tuesday, he yielded only a 15th-minute penalty kick while making four stops. The Golden Knights were sixth in the United Soccer Coaches East Region poll. Coil made seven saves in a 2-1 victory at Stonehill on Saturday, coming within one of his season high. Coil finished the season with a 1.66 GAA and .736 save percentage with a 3-6 record, taking 10th in the league and 19th in Super-Region 1 in save percentage. This was Coil's third weekly honor this year, which including being named NE10 Rookie of the Week for the last week of September.
Saint Michael's finished its season with a record of 4-10-2 overall and 1-9-2 in the NE10, with five losses coming by a single goal, including four versus regionally-ranked foes.
