COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's basketball senior Emily Ferreri (Hyde Park, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Feb. 17. Ferreri earned her fourth award of the season.
Ferreri averaged 13.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 offensive rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.5 assists in a 1-1 week. During a 71-51 loss at regionally-ranked Stonehill College on Tuesday, she collected 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting with a career-high 12 rebounds, five offensive boards, four assists and two steals. In a 77-69 win against Assumption College on Saturday, Ferreri totaled 15 points, six rebounds, six steals and three assists, shooting 10-for-14 on free throws.
Ferreri averages career highs in scoring (13.1), rebounding (6.5), assists (3.6) and offensive rebounding (2.2) while adding 1.8 steals. She is eighth in the NE10 in assists, tied for ninth in steals, 17th in rebounding and free throw shooting (73.1%), 18th in scoring and made free throws per game (2.5), and 19th in offensive rebounding. The 5-foot-8 guard is the only player in program history - and only the third man or woman at Saint Michael's - with 850 points (878), 400 rebounds (435), 250 assists (255), 150 steals (167) and 40 blocks (46) in a career, having played 100 games.
The Purple Knights, 11-12 overall and 7-11 in NE10 play, have won six of eight to creep within three games of the final NE10 Northeast Division postseason spot with three games left. Saint Michael's hosts No. 14 Bentley University on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The Falcons' national ranking is according to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
