COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's basketball sophomore Emma MacDonough (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) landed on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Dec. 8. MacDonough claimed her first career accolade as the fourth Purple Knight to earn a weekly award from the NE10 this winter season.
MacDonough averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals during a 1-1 week. MacDonough had a game-high 16 points with five rebounds, three offensive boards, an assist and a steal during a 69-57 loss to Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday before collecting 14 points, three boards, four steals, two blocks and an assist during 24 minutes on Saturday during a 96-49 win over Vermont Technical College, which was ranked 12th in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II national poll.
After averaging 3.9 points in 25 games as a reserve in 2018-19, MacDonough has started all eight contests this season, turning in 11.0 points on 38.2 percent three-point shooting with 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists. The 5-foot-10 guard is tied for 12th in the NE10 in three-point percentage and tied for 18th in made threes per game (1.6).
Saint Michael's stands 5-3 overall and 0-3 in the NE10 heading into exam week. The Purple and Gold hosts the University of Bridgeport next Monday at 1 p.m. for a meeting between the only Purple Knights in college athletics.
