2018-19 Women's Ice Hockey Outlook

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team returns 21 veterans, among them its starting goalie and most of last year's top 10 scorers and defensive corps, as the Purple Knights look to continue making strides in the new NCAA Division I/II New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA).

KEY DATES
Saint Michael's opens the season with a two-game NEWHA series versus Post University on Friday and Saturday, kicking off play in the five-team NCAA Division I/II league that sees the Purple Knights face each Franklin Pierce, Post, Sacred Heart University and Saint Anselm College four times. All five teams will play in a postseason tournament that begins in late February, with the semifinals and final taking place at Saint Anselm on Feb. 23-24. All five are also eligible for the NCAA National Collegiate Championship ... Saint Michael's rounds out its schedule by playing a home-and-home set with the State University of New York at Potsdam on Nov. 26-27, visiting the University of New England on Nov. 30-Dec. 1, hosting its 14th annual Delta Hotels Burlington Ice Hockey Classic on Jan. 4-5, and hosting Anna Maria College for a pair on Feb. 18-19 ... the Purple Knights play all eight of their January games at home before hitting the road for their six regular-season contests in February.
