COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's soccer senior Greta Ricigliano (Milwaukee, Wis./Nicolet) and junior Liz Vallatini (Needham, Mass./Needham) both earned spots on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Sept. 8.
Ricigliano netted two goals, including a game-winner, while adding a game-winning assist during a 2-0 weekend. In a 1-0 victory at Bloomfield (N.J.) College on Saturday, she assisted the 88th-minute winner before scoring the first two goals by the 14th minute of a 9-0 triumph at Lincoln (Pa.) University on Sunday. She stands tied for second in the NE10 in goals (2) and tied for fourth in points (5), standing one shy of her career high in each.
Vallatini did not allow a goal in 90 minutes over the weekend, making two stops while helping the Purple Knights begin the year 2-0 for the first time in 11 seasons. She had one save in the first half during the 1-0 win at Bloomfield before making one more stop in the opening half at Lincoln to corral the victory. Vallatini is among 11 goalkeepers in the NE10 with a 1.000 save percentage and a 0.00 goals-against average.
Now 2-0 on the young season, the Purple Knights host Pace University on Saturday at 12 p.m. to begin both their home and NE10 slates.
