FAST FACTS
The Tarrant Recreation Center contains a field house with four multi-purpose courts and a suspended 1/8-mile track, which is open as a second-story viewing area for indoor tennis matches. The facility offers one racquetball court and one squash court available for use by members of the campus community.
The Saint Michael's fitness center and weight rooms are located on the second floor of the Tarrant Recreation Center. All Saint Michael's students have an opportunity to use the facility, which includes cardiovascular workout equipment and a full range of free weights and benches.
The Gagnon Climbing Wall is located in the lobby and is used by students to practice their climbing techniques. The Adventure Sports Center also utilizes the wall for teaching and preparation of off-campus climbing outings.
The Tarrant Recreation Center includes locker rooms, an equipment room, the varsity media room, a dance studio, and offices, including the second-floor athletic department office suite.
The Athletic Hall of Fame, which was established in 1987, has a permanent home off of the lobby, with plaques of each enshrinee and one of the College's historic Block 'M' blankets on display.
The facility was named in honor of the parents of Richard Tarrant '65, a former member of the Board of Trustees, a three-year basketball standout at the College, and a 1965 NBA Draft pick.
In summer 2022, the new Suzanne L. Duprat Conference Room was dedicated in place of an old meeting space in the Athletics office suite. The Duprat Room has a state-of-the-art digital display while providing a cozy congregation space for coaches, student-athletes and administrative staff alike. The space honors Duprat, the first female full-time Athletics employee who spent 27 years as an administrator and head coach of numerous sports at the College.
