I. Mission Statement
The Saint Michael's College Strength & Conditioning department operates under a global scope, incorporating principles of strength, power, speed, recovery, and mental and physical discipline. Each student-athlete requires different needs in order to be successful and injury-free in reaching their highest potential in their sport. Education will be emphasized for student-athletes, coaches, staff and administrators. Increasing an understanding of our “WHY” will be critical to optimize performance and serve the overall welfare of the student-athletes.
II. Goals and Objectives
- Increase movement patterns using a multi-planar approach to programming.
- Continually progress strength, energy system development, rate of force development, and speed.
- Reduce the risk of injury.
- Proceed with the department's objectives in line with the College's mission/vision including developing a foundation of education and understanding in everything that we do and ask of our student-athletes.

Internship Program
Saint Michael's College Strength & Conditioning accepts interns and volunteers on a semester-based curriculum. Interns will be able to earn school credit through their institution under the mentorship of strength & conditioning coach Greg Wilson. They will be provided an internship manual and outline for their time with us. This is for serious students/coaches interested in strength & conditioning as a career. Interns/volunteers must be CPR/First Aid certified and have or working toward their Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Responsibilities for the position will entail assisting in all aspects of the strength & conditioning programs for 21 varsity sports. Interns will assist with all training as well as Varsity Weight Room maintenance and upkeep.
All interns will be required to complete the education curriculum throughout the semester with various presentations, projects and professional development opportunities.
Note: This is an unpaid position.
