POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College women's swimming & diving team finished the dual-meet portion of its season with a 171-122 victory at the State University of New York at Potsdam on Saturday, claiming 11 event victories in the Maxcy Hall Pool. The Purple Knights finished 4-4 prior to the championship leg of their season, while the Bears are 2-4. The 2-6 Purple and Gold men dropped a 175-109 decision to the 3-3 hosts.

Junior Steph Nadow (Charlton, Mass./Saint Peter-Marian) and first-year Lindsay McNall (Colchester, Vt./Colchester) both won four events, with McNall completing the dual portion of the season 19-0 in individual races. Nadow took the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events while swimming for the top 400-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relays. McNall topped the 200 free and 100- and 200-yard butterfly fields while also swimming a leg for the winning 400 free relay, siding with not only Nadow but also senior Julie Mullowney (Burlington, Vt./Burlington) and sophomore Luci Franklin (Steamboat Springs, Colo./Lowell Whiteman School).

Mullowney was also victorious in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races, with first-year Lauren Wheaton (Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) placing second in the 200 breast. Nadow and Wheaton combined with junior Kim Brady (Morris Township, N.J./Academy of Saint Elizabeth) and first-year Katrina Wiesner (Bow, N.H./Bow) to win the 400 medley relay, while Wiesner was the fastest competitor in the 50 and 100 free races. Mullowney was second in the 50 free, coming in at 26.62 to Wiesner's 26.47.

Senior Grace Kahn (Fairhope, Ala./Bayside Academy) was the 200-yard individual medley runner-up, and sophomore Catherine Tierney (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) was second in the 1,000 free.

Junior Nathan Paluso (Windham, Maine/Windham) posted four top-two showings for the men, including winning the 1,000 free. Junior Joe Vo (Springfield, Mass./Cathedral) had the Purple Knights' other win, during one of the one-meter diving competitions. Thirkell touched the wall second in both the 100 and 200 fly, and Thomas was the runner-up during the 50 free. MacPherson and Thirkell sided with sophomore Nick Johns (Seaford, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) and first-year Seth Boudreau (Saint Albans, Vt./BFA-Saint Albans) to place second in the 400 medley relay. Boudreau was second in the 100 and 200 back events.
