COLCHESTER, Vt. - First-year Pierce Farrington (Shelburne, Vt./Champlain Valley Union) set his seventh and eighth school records of the winter on Saturday and was one of 13 Saint Michael's College men's and women's swimming & diving student-athletes to win at least one event during dual-meet losses to The College of Saint Rose in the Ross Sports Center natatorium. The Purple Knight men are 1-5 after a 136-99 setback, and the women moved to 4-3 after falling by a 137-106 count. Both Golden Knight squads are 7-2.
Farrington won three times to pace the men. His time of 53.92 in the 100-yard backstroke bested Dan Healy's '12 mark of 54.27 set three years ago, which was the same season the 200-yard individual medley standard was established. Farrington clocked in at 2:00.30 in the 200 IM to lower senior Nathan Paluso's (Windham, Maine/Windham) former record of 2:02.93. Farrington now holds eight records, which is also a program mark, across breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, backstroke and IM events. During the 400-yard medley relay, Farrington, Paluso and first-years Joe Carroll (Andover, Mass./Andover) and Zach Kosakowski (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme) won in a time of 3:50.68.

In the second one-meter dive, Vo won with 134.90 points, while Davis was second and Youmans third.

Sophomore Lindsay McNall (Colchester, Vt./Colchester) won a pair of individual races, taking the 100 free in 56.03 and clocking in at 25.47 as the first of three straight finishers during the 50 free. Following McNall were second-place sophomore Katrina Wiesner (Bow, N.H./Bow) and third-place senior Kim Brady (Morris Township, N.J./Academy of Saint Elizabeth), who were separated by 0.22 seconds. Junior Julie Shea (Peabody, Mass./Peabody Veterans Memorial/Assumption) paced the 200 IM field in 2:19.19, and she also joined Brady, Wiesner and first-year Ally Fischang (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) to take the 400 free relay at 3:54.06.
Senior Steph Nadow (Charlton, Mass./Saint Peter-Marian) won the 100 back in 1:02.74, and first-year Betsy Portch (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) captured the 1,000 free at 11:27.47.
