WORCESTER, Mass. - The regionally-ranked Saint Michael's College men's tennis team capped its fall slate with a 6-1 victory over Assumption University during a Northeast-10 Conference match on Friday at the Assumption Tennis Courts. The Purple Knights, who will play their final six NE10 contests in the spring semester, were ninth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region poll.

THE ACTION
- The doubles pairs of Brooker/Moser and Barroso/Du Plessis opened play with dueling 6-4 victories at No. 3 and 2, respectively, to lock down a 1-0 lead for the Purple Knights. Both duos improved to 8-4 this year.
- Billman and van den Broek finished off a 7-5 win in the top spot, remaining undefeated at 3-0.
- After Moser lost at No. 1 singles, Du Plessis earned a 6-1, 6-4 win in the second spot, and Barroso rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) triumph in the third position to make it 3-1. Brooker clinched the team win behind a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 6.
- Van den Broek padded the lead with a 6-0, 5-7, 10-8 win at No. 4, and Billman closed the contest by taking a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 comeback decision in the fifth spot.
