Regionally-Ranked Men's Tennis Blanks Emerson

NASHUA, N.H. - Six players picked up victories as the regionally-ranked Saint Michael's College men's tennis team blanked Emerson College, 9-0, on Monday afternoon at the Longfellow Tennis & Swim Club. The Purple Knights were ninth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region poll.

THE ACTION
  • Emerson defaulted at No. 3 doubles before Barroso and Du Plessis picked up their record-tying win, 8-2, at No. 1. Papovsky and van den Broek finished off the sweep with an 8-3 victory in the second spot.
  • The Saint Michael's lead swelled to 4-0 when the Lions defaulted at No. 6 singles, and Moser clinched the victory behind a 6-2, 6-1 win in the second position.
  • Du Plessis (6-2, 6-2), Barroso (6-2, 6-2), Brooker (6-0, 6-2) and Papovsky (6-0, 6-1) added wins at No. 1, 3, 4 and 5, respectively.
