WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College softball team lost to a pair of 2023 NCAA Tournament qualifiers on Thursday, against Lewis University, 2-0, and No. 7 University of Indianapolis, 6-0, during The Spring Games at the DiamondPlex Softball Complex. UIndy's national ranking is according to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

THE ACTION
- Johns singled in the top of the first inning before reaching second on an error following senior Meghan Connor (Saint Albans, Vt./BFA-Saint Albans/Endicott) grounder, but Wuske retired the next two batters.
- Lewis loaded the bases with one down in both the second and third but couldn't push a run across, and the Purple Knights left the bases loaded in the fourth.
- With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Hoffman extended the game with a single to center before Powell walked it off with a two-run homer to left field.

THE ACTION
- Calvin scored on a two-out error in the top of the first inning, and the Greyhounds scored four more runs on four hits in the second. Calvin provided a two-run single.
- Perry added an RBI knock in the third, but Richards retired eight of the next nine batters, not yielding a hit in that time.
- The Purple Knights put two on with two down in the third, but Casebolt induced an inning-ending fly ball while working around two-out doubles by Connor and Devens in the first and sixth frames, respectively, to secure the shutout.
