Women's Lacrosse Closes Season with 17-11 Loss to Southern New Hampshire

COLCHESTER, Vt. - In a meeting between two teams fighting for the eighth and final Northeast-10 Conference Championship seed, the Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team lost to Southern New Hampshire University, 17-11, on Tuesday afternoon in its season finale at Duffy Field.

  • Lynch will enter her senior year with 92 career points while standing third in program history with 134 draw controls, edging past Melissa Jaskiewicz '15 (133) on Tuesday.
  • Whitley's 33 caused turnovers this season were good for third in school annals, and she stands sixth in career caused turnovers (65) entering 2026. Barbato's 27 caused turnovers this spring tied for eighth in a season.
  • Fenton will graduate eighth in Saint Michael's history in career caused turnovers (50).
  • Hamilton's 57 draw controls this spring were good for third in program history, short only of Annie Martin's '19 63 in 2018 and Amanda Soule's '08 60 in 2006.
  • The Purple Knights tied a six-year-old school record with 206 caused turnovers this spring, while their 70 assists were the program's most since handing out a record 108 in 2008.
THE ACTION
  • Hamilton and Sullivan both scored twice as the Purple Knights led 6-2 by 12:37 of the second quarter. Lynch added a goal and two assists, while Conover handed out a pair of helpers.
  • After strikes from Redding (10:48) and Pietz (6:09), Saint Michael's responded with the next four goals in a matter of 3:58. Hamilton countered Pietz only 43 seconds later, Lynch scored with a woman up at 3:52, and Conover netted goals at 2:19 and 1:28, with the former an extra-player tally. The Purple Knights led 10-4 at halftime.
  • The Penmen came out of the intermission with the next 13 goals, taking control with eight markers in one 7:22 span of the third stanza.
  • McInnis' goal nine seconds into the fourth quarter made it 15-10 before the hosts held Southern New Hampshire off the board again until 6:34 remained but did not make up any ground in the interim.
  • Conover converted the final goal of the contest with 3:29 to go.
