COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's tennis team swept past Bentley University, 7-0, during Northeast 10 Conference play on Saturday at the SMC Tennis Courts.

THE ACTION
  • The doubles tandems of Larsen/Ricaurte and Gredenhag/McPherson opened play with matching 6-3 victories at the No. 2 and 1 spots, respectively, to clinch the opening point. The former improved to 5-1 this season.
  • Aldrete and Xu held on for a 7-5 win in the third spot to move to 4-1.
  • Larsen lost only two games during a straight-set singles win at No. 2 before McPherson rallied for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 triumph in the top spot to make it 3-0.
  • Xu secured the team victory with a 7-5, 7-5 win in the fourth position before Aldrete posted a 0-6, 6-1, 10-7 comeback win at No. 5.
  • Gredenhag picked up a 7-6 (8-6), 1-6, 6-4 victory in the third spot before Ricaurte completed action with a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 6, moving to 5-1 this fall.
