Softball Splits NE10 Twinbill at Bentley, Takes Nightcap 6-2

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College softball team split a Northeast 10 Conference doubleheader at Bentley University on Saturday, losing 8-4 before grabbing a 6-2 win on the Bentley Softball Field.

DOUBLEHEADER FACTS
  • Seniors CJ Davidson (Canyon Lake, Calif./Vista Murrieta) and Brooke Edgerly (Morley, Mich./Morley Stanwood) pushed their career hit totals to 95 and 94, respectively.
  • Davidson also took over solo possession of fifth place in school annals with her 15th career win.

THE ACTION
  • Davidson launched her fifth career home run with two down in the first inning to plate the game's first run.
  • Eaton worked around four base runners, all of which reached scoring position, while shutting Bentley out over the first three innings before the Falcons broke through with six runs on seven hits in the fourth. Diaz and Baker both knocked two-run doubles in the key frame.
  • The Purple Knights got three runs back in the fifth, with Nickerson sending an RBI single to center before Edgerly followed suit to score two unearned runs with two down.
  • Sophomore Carly DiMento responded with a two-out RBI double in the home half before Morrison added a two-out RBI single in the sixth.
