Women's Tennis Finishes Season Sweep of Bentley with Shutout Victory

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's tennis team completed a season sweep of Bentley University with a 4-0 win on Saturday during Northeast 10 Conference play in the Tarrant Recreation Center.

THE ACTION
  • Saint Michael's dropped only one game in doubles en route to the sweep of the discipline. The teams of Aldrete/Ricaurte and McPherson/Xu began play with 6-0 wins at No. 3 and 1, respectively, to collect the opening point. Gredenhag and Larsen earned a 6-1 victory in the second spot.
  • Gredenhag won 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) at No. 3 singles before Xu took a 6-4, 7-5 decision in the fourth spot. Larsen clinched the team triumph behind a 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 comeback victory at No. 2.
  • The teams played to decision, leaving McPherson just short of a win in the top spot once Larsen registered the final point despite leading 7-6 (7-2), 4-1. Aldrete was up 2-1 in her opening set at No. 5 when the match concluded, while Ricaurte was yet to begin at contest in the sixth position.
