COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College Executive Director of Athletics
Matt Akins announced the hire of
Jill Baskin as Director of Sports Medicine this week, effective June 22. She will join Athletic Trainers
Cassandra Bushey,
Aislinn O'Connor and
Alex Simon on a four-person team for the 2026-27 school year, managing the coverage of 22 varsity programs, and oversee Strength & Conditioning Coach
Matt Dickie.

A National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA)-certified athletic trainer, Baskin carries experience at all three NCAA levels, most recently as Head Athletic Trainer for Division II Lincoln (Pa.) University this past school year. She served as the primary athletic trainer for softball and women's volleyball, and was also preceptor for Neumann University's and West Chester University's MSAT programs. From 2022 to 2025, Baskin was an outreach athletic trainer for Professional Physical Therapy of Manhasset, N.Y., working as the primary athletic trainer for middle and high school-aged children at Manhasset Secondary School.

During the 2021-22 school year, Baskin was at Division I Mississippi State University, working with women's golf, men's tennis and women's tennis student-athletes in the second semester as an athletic trainer. In the first semester, she was an athletic training fellow, managing operational planning and logistics for the athletic department's COVID-19 testing and documentation while handling vaccine tracking and submitting test results to the Mississippi State Department of Health. Baskin also worked with the football team and provided sideline coverage at that year's AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

Baskin spent the 2020-21 school year as a medical assistant in the University of Vermont Medical Center neurology department, also serving as a member of the inaugural Neurological Sciences Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.

Baskin was an assistant athletic trainer at Division II University of Montevallo (Ala.) during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years. In addition to primarily working with cheer, dance, women's lacrosse and women's volleyball, she provided coverage for men's lacrosse, tennis and track & field. Baskin was a member of the medical staff for the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championship. She also worked with the local Olympic Development Program for two summers.

Baskin pursued a master of science in kinesiology at Division I James Madison (Va.) University in 2016-17 and 2017-18, completing her degree in 2018 after concentrating in sport and recreation leadership. She worked with the women's volleyball program during those two years, when she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer.

Baskin earned a bachelor of science in athletic training from Appalachian State (N.C.) University in December 2014 before spending the next three semesters as an assistant athletic trainer for Washington (Md.) College. In her first professional role, Baskin worked with the Shoremen and Shorewomen men's basketball, women's lacrosse, women's soccer and softball programs, and lent game coverage for basketball, football, lacrosse and soccer at Kent County High School.
