COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's tennis team lost to reigning Northeast 10 Conference Championship titlist Adelphi University, 5-2, on Saturday at the SMC Tennis Courts. The Panthers also qualified for the past two NCAA Tournaments.

THE ACTION

• Adelphi lost only four games during a doubles sweep. Junior Lucy McPherson (Vancouver, British Columbia/Magee Secondary School) and sophomore Olivia Larsen (Riverview, New Brunswick/Riverview) registered the closest decision with a 6-3 defeat at No. 1.
• The Panthers opened singles play with three consecutive straight-set wins to clinch the team victory. Among them, Larsen fell 6-2, 6-4 in the second spot, and McPherson was downed by a 6-4, 6-3 count at No. 1.
• Gredenhag got her team on the board with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 win in the third spot before Aldrete capped the contest by taking a 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 victory at No. 6.
