As a Sophomore: Finished second on the team and 45th overall in the slalom with a 2:59.17 at the Bates Carnival on Jan. 16 during lone carnival of season.

As a Freshman: Competed in 10 events ... finished second on the team and 37th overall in the slalom (2:05.00) at the Saint Michael's Carnival on Jan. 30-31 ... was third among SMC skiers and 45th overall in the giant slalom (2:24.88) at the Saint Lawrence Carnival/EISA Championship on Feb. 27-28.

High School: Competed in Alpine skiing and soccer at Kennett High School ... member of Alpine skiing team at Waterville Valley Academy during senior year ... soccer captain ... three-time member of the state ski team ... state champion and qualified for Meet of Champions all three years ... Kiwanis Key Club member for four years.

Personal: Molly Jess Van Deursen ... daughter of Russell and Kathleen Van Deursen ... majoring in media studies, journalism & digital arts with a minor in political science ... member of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) ... studied abroad in Florence, Italy, during fall 2016 ... mother captained the Alpine skiing team at Bates ... brother Jake is part of the Alpine skiing team at Saint Lawrence.
