John Salivonchik Headshot

John Salivonchik

John Salivonchik is in his third season as an assistant coach with the Saint Michael's men's basketball program during the 2025-26 school year.

Salivonchik previously served four years as an assistant coach at Western New England University (2019-20 to 2022-23), helping the Golden Bears to a 50-35 overall mark, including 33-19 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play. Western New England went 21-7 en route to making its initial CCC Championship title game appearance in 2022-23, when it posted its highest win total in 16 years and featured four all-conference players Salivonchik recruited. Among them was Jake Harrison, a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-America second team and D3hoops.com All-Region 2 first team selection and CCC Player of the Year that season.

During that same stretch (fall 2019 to spring 2023), Salivonchik was an event director for New England-based BasketBull, through which he secured staffing and locations for tournaments, managed event-day operations and scheduling, and served as a liaison between college coaches and prospective student-athletes. Salivonchik also gained experience as an event co-op with Zero Gravity Basketball and a recruiting coordinator with the Hoop Group.

Salivonchik was a four-year manager with the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team, serving three years as head manager before graduating in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in management. In 2022, he completed a master's in sports leadership and coaching from Western New England.
