Kyra Yu returns to the Saint Michael's women's ice hockey coaching staff for her second season as a volunteer assistant coach in 2025-26.
Yu, who served as an assistant coach with the Rice Memorial High School prep girls' program in 2023-24, is employed as Champlain College's Fitness and Recreation Coordinator after working two years as Champlain's Event Operations Coordinator. She is pursuing her master's degree from Champlain in business administration.
A native of Ogden, Utah, Yu played prep ice hockey at Rice before graduating from the University of New England in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a minor in coaching. In 82 games as a Nor'easter, Yu scored 19 goals and added 26 assists, potting eight power-play markers and six game-winners. She landed on the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) All-Conference second team as a junior and the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) All-Rookie Team as a first-year. A member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, Yu earned five national and conference academic accolades.
