Saint Michael's College

Lilly Holmes returns for her third season as an assistant coach with the Saint Michael's men's ice hockey team in 2024-25, and her second as the program's lead assistant.

Holmes has coached locally with the Vermont Shamrocks, Girls 4 Hockey and Hat Trick Hockey while working as a skills instructor through ELEV802. She was also an age-group team leader for USA Hockey in Saint Cloud, Minn., in July 2021 and 2022. Holmes carries additional experience coaching baseball, field hockey and soccer.

The Saratoga Springs, N.Y., wrapped up a five-year playing career at Division I University of Vermont by utilizing her final season as a graduate student in 2022-23. At UVM, Holmes was an assistant captain while further leading as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) board and the Athletic Committee on Mental Health. The Hockey East All-Academic qualifier completed her undergraduate education with a degree in psychological science and coaching in 2022 before earning a master's degree in secondary education and teaching in June 2023.

Holmes has volunteered locally as a mentor and math aide at Edmunds Middle School in Burlington and with Kayla's Directory, supporting and mentoring children with disabilities.
