Matty Edkins is in their fourth season as the Saint Michael's men's and women's diving coach during the 2025-26 school year.
While pursuing their graduate studies, Edkins was Clarkson University's diving coach between 2019-20 and 2021-22. During the winter of 2019-20, they mentored a male diver who was second in the one-meter event at the Liberty League Championship and competed at the NCAA Division III Northeast Diving Regional Championship. One of Edkins' female divers broke a pair of school records that season.
A four-time All-America diver at Saint Lawrence University, including twice apiece on the one- and three-meter boards, Edkins qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship as a first-year and sophomore while competing in regionals all four years, finishing between fifth and 15th in all seven of their events. Edkins was the 2018-19 Liberty League Diver of the Year as a senior, when they captured their third career Liberty title, in the three-meter dive. They reached the podium and earned all-conference in all eight career events at the league championship, also winning the one-meter as a first-year and the three-meter as a sophomore.
A Liberty League All-Academic qualifier as a senior, Edkins graduated from Saint Lawrence in 2019 with a degree in environmental sociology after minoring in gender and sexuality studies. They completed their master's from Clarkson in 2022 in environmental policy, also serving as a research assistant during the 2020-21 school year. Edkins, who has been the head of the diving department at Brown Ledge Camp in Colchester since 2018, works locally at the University of Vermont as a program coordinator.
