Michael Ewan returns to the Saint Michael's baseball program for his eighth season on the staff in 2026, and his second as the mental skills coach. Ewan is also a career coach in the College's Boucher Career Education Center.

Ewan joined the Purple Knights as an assistant coach in 2018 before serving a second stint in that capacity between 2020 and 2024. In between, he spent the 2019 season as an assistant coach on the varsity baseball team at nearby South Burlington High School.

Ewan has more than 10 years of coaching experience. He previously coached at Saint John's College High School, one of the top programs in the Washington, D.C., metro area, from 2013 to 2017. He led his freshman team to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) title in 2014 before guiding the junior varsity squad to a WCAC crown the next year. Ewan was a volunteer assistant coach with the varsity team at West Ashley (S.C.) High School in 2008 and nearby South Burlington High School the next four years. He was also a coach with Diamond Skills Baseball in 2015, working with middle-school-age players during summer camps.

Since coming back to Vermont in 2017, Ewan has worked locally as the chief operations officer with The DREAM Program in Winooski, returning to an organization where he was previously employed from 2008 to 2014. A 1999 graduate of Appalachian State (N.C.) University with a degree in recreation management, Ewan completed his master's degree in 2008 at the College of Charleston (S.C.), focusing on Special Education - Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
