Nick Goodreau, who has worked with and developed some of the best talent in the state through his Vermont Storm Fastpitch Softball club program, heads into his eighth season as the Saint Michael's softball head coach in 2026. In summer 2023, Goodreau became the first full-time head coach in program history.
Goodreau is owner, president and 18U-23U head coach for the Vermont Storm, taking the program's reins in 2014 and growing it from one team to five age-group squads with a year-round training program for more than 60 prospective college players. As a head coach, Goodreau's teams were 83-27-1 between 2015 and 2018 while winning eight tournaments, including four Vermont Rockets Invitationals two Lac St-Louis Lions Classics in Quebec. Nearly a dozen players from Goodreau's 2018 summer teams took their talents to the college level during the 2018-19 school year.
Goodreau, who introduced indoor fall and winter development training and instruction for Vermont Storm players, has recruited and developed numerous players who went on to compete in college. Over the years, Goodreau has worked with local sponsors to subsidize player costs while meeting annual fundraising goals, hiring coaches and coordinating all aspects of the teams in the Vermont Storm program. Goodreau joined the Vermont Storm as a hitting and bench coach in 2013.
Goodreau is a graduate of Champlain College, earning a bachelor's degree in business management. He also completed his associate's degree in applied sciences from Star Technical Institute in systems and network design.
