Ray-Maurice Edwards joins the Saint Michael's men's basketball coaching staff for his first year as an assistant coach in 2026-27. He carries nearly a decade of collegiate coaching experience spanning the NCAA Division II, National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) levels, as well as international coaching experience.
Edwards was an assistant coach at NCAA Division II counterpart Lincoln (Pa.) University during the 2025-26 school year, when he was involved in recruiting, player development, scouting, practice planning, and day-to-day program operations.
Edwards was head coach for five years at Penn State University-Lehigh Valley (2019-20 to 2023-24) of the USCAA, setting the program record for career coaching victories while also helping the 2023-24 squad finish 16-10 to break a season mark for wins. He oversaw all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, academic support, staff management, and basketball operations.
Edwards previously served as associate head coach at NJCAA member Northampton (Pa.) Community College. In three seasons at Northampton, he helped the team to a top-15 national ranking each year and two Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) titles while contributing to recruiting, game preparation, and player development.
A long-time Student Athlete World USA (SAWUSA) basketball coach, Edwards guided his teams to the U16 gold medal at the 2025 United World Games in Austria and the U23 gold medal at the 2024 Portugal Basketball Festival. He also coached SAWUSA teams internationally at the 2026 United World Games, 2023 Costa Rica Adventure, and 2022 Argentina Experience.
Edwards graduated from Temple University in 2014 with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology.
