Saint Michael's College

Sarah Childs, Ed.D. is in her fourth year as Saint Michael's Athletics' NCAA Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee during the 2023-24 school year. Childs has been the College's Director of the Center for Multicultural Affairs & Services and Associate Dean of Students since July 2020, and is a member of the Saint Michael's Bias Response Team and Racial Justice Task Force.

Childs was assistant director at The Mosaic Center for Students of Color at the University of Vermont for seven and a half years prior to joining the Saint Michael's Community. A native of Tucson, Ariz., Childs completed degrees in elementary education and Spanish at Northern Arizona University in 2005 before coming to Vermont and earning her master's degree in higher education and student affairs administration at UVM in 2008. She later worked in multicultural affairs at Texas A&M University and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) before returning to UVM and earning her doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies in 2018. Her research focused on the wellness of undocumented Latinx college students.
