Tevin Baskin returned to the Saint Michael's College men's basketball program in June 2026 as associate head coach under head coach Eric Eaton. He previously served as the Purple Knights' top assistant coach during the 2020-21 school year. Baskin carries coaching experience from the NBA G League and at all three NCAA levels.
Baskin served as associate head coach at Lincoln (Pa.) University during the 2025-26 school year, leading recruiting efforts for high school, junior college, international, and NCAA transfer portal prospects. He was the primary player development coach for a pair of Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Rookie selections in Amadou Fall and Julius Olanrewaju.

Baskin rose quickly through the ranks with the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League during his three seasons, helping the Nets post a 59-41 regular-season mark while advancing to a pair of Eastern Conference Finals. As an assistant video coordinator for player development in 2022-23, Baskin and the Nets went 23-9, finished first in the league in defensive ratings, and won the Eastern Conference's regular-season title before reaching the conference finals. The following season, he was head of player development and video coordinator, pushing the Nets back to the Eastern Conference Finals. Baskin authored individualized player development plans for Brooklyn Nets two-way player Jaylen Martin, current NBA G Leaguer Trey McGowens, former Purple Knight and current international professional Patrick Gardner, and former Division I standout David Muoka. He also served as a Brooklyn Nets Summer League assistant coach in 2023 and 2024 and assisted at the Brooklyn Nets preseason training camp in 2023.

Baskin was promoted to assistant coach for his final season in 2024-25, when the Nets counted a franchise-record seven NBA call-ups. He was the lead player development coach for Drew Timme, who later signed a multi-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets; Tosan Evbuomwan, who signed a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets; and 2022 NBA Draft selection Kendall Brown and 2023 NBA Draft pick Amari Bailey.

Baskin spent the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons as a graduate assistant on Ben Howland's staff at Division I Mississippi State University of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) before returning for 2021-22 as director of scouting and analytics. The Bulldogs went a combined 43-22 during his first two winters, winning at least 20 games in each while qualifying for the 2019 NCAA Tournament, their first in a decade. Mississippi State had at least 10 SEC victories in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1995-96, and its league finish in 2019-20 was the program's best in nine years.

After spending the 2020-21 school year as the top assistant coach at Saint Michael's, which saw its season canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Baskin returned to Mississippi State in June 2021. The Bulldogs earned one of four No. 3 seeds in the 2022 National Invitation Tournament (NIT), and Baskin's efforts set them up to win 21 games and qualify for NCAA Tournaments each of the following three years. He directed the program's video operations and statistical metrics while also overseeing on-court skill development.

During his two stints, numerous Bulldogs reached the next level. Quinndary Weatherspoon was selected by the San Antonio Spurs in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft, Aric Holman signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers, Robert Woodard II (Memphis Grizzlies) and 2020 SEC Co-Player of the Year Reggie Perry (Los Angeles Clippers) were both taken in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft, and All-SEC first team selection Iverson Molinar played in the NBA G League. Tolu Smith, the SEC's leader in rebounding in 2020-21 and field goal percentage in 2022-23, has since signed a multi-year contract with the Detroit Pistons.

Baskin was an assistant coach at Division III Bridgewater (Va.) College during the 2017-18 school year, helping aid the development of 2018 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Rookie of the Year Dimetri Chambers.

Baskin began his college coaching career in 2016-17 at National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) power Northwest Florida State College, where he worked with wings and post players. The Raiders were ranked No. 1 in the Sporting News preseason national poll before going 29-5 overall and 12-0 in the Panhandle Conference. Northwest Florida advanced to the NJCAA Final Four, its second national semifinal appearance in three seasons.

Baskin played a significant role in the development of forward Jeromy Rodriguez, the 2017 Panhandle Conference Player of the Year and eventual Division I Eastern Tennessee State University student-athlete, and aided in the development of Daryl Edwards (LSU, UTEP), Andrew Gordon (West Virginia University, Louisiana Tech) and Malik Petteway (Robert Morris University), all of whom advanced to Division I careers.

A standout small forward at Trinity Catholic High School in his native Stamford, Conn., Baskin scored 1,869 career points as his teams went a combined 102-12. Baskin was rated as a top 50 small forward by ESPN.com and was selected to play in the Jordan Brand Classic Regional All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden in New York City as a senior.

Baskin's college career began in 2010-11 at Division I Quinnipiac (Conn.) University, where Eaton was an assistant coach at the time. The Bobcats went 22-10 overall and 13-5 in the Northeast Conference (NEC) before landing a spot in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. In 2011-12, Baskin helped Chipola (Fla.) College post a 23-7 mark and qualify for the NJCAA Tournament after earning the No. 4 ranking in the preseason national poll. Baskin made an impact in two seasons at Division I Appalachian State, averaging 9.2 points and 3.9 rebounds while blocking 48 shots. He continued his playing career for two seasons as a professional in Mexico.

Baskin completed his bachelor's degree in communication studies with a minor in sociology from Appalachian State (N.C.) University in 2014 and earned his master's degree in workforce education leadership from Mississippi State in 2020.
